Canaan Review [Anime]

Plot:

Two years ago, Shibuya was ravaged by a biological terrorist attack using the deadly Ua virus. Maria Osawa was saved when her father inoculated her against the virus, but is left with partial amnesia from the shock. Now working as a cameraman, she reunited with her friend Canaan in Hong Kong. Canaan is an assassin gifted with synesthesia, and she’s being targeted by the terrorist squad Snake. Meanwhile, numerous groups converge on Hong Kong, all after either Canaan or Maria.

Opening: “mind as Judgment” by Faylan

Ending: “My heaven” by Annabel

The good:

  • The opening theme.
  • Only 13 episodes thanks God!
  • I like Canaan character.

The bad:

  • Necrophilia… WTF! That’s sick!
  • Turn on boring on the middle
  • It could be the disappointment of 2009 in anime
  • It became bored before reaching half
  • The ending it´s so damn bad.
  • I hate Maria Osawa… It´s a shame she didn´t die…
  • The ending theme… is bad… I always skipped that ending (always).

Overall: Don´t waste your time!… It cannot be compare with Fate Stay Night or Kara no Kyoukai

    That last picture of Canaan in a dress is wrong…just wrong

    The ending failed miserably. I can’t believe they found a way to ruined this perfectly good story line, it can’t get anymore cliche than the typical happy ending. “orz

    Meanwhile, numerous groups converge on Hong Kong, all after either Canaan or Maria.

    The story actually took place in Shanghai, China. Not sure how ANN messed that up as it was mentioned in the anime.

    I know I hate Canaan anime… I don’t want to remember anything about it… it sucks
    And yes, you right it was Shanghai!

    I stopped watching Canaan around when all those world leaders were taken hostage and that stealth bomber was going to wipe them out. I guess that was a good time to quit?

    Im not gonna lie The fact that they ended it in a manner were both character survived, and then didnt have a relationship together is BULLSHIT. “Canaan can’t be with you, to piss off that guy Dragonbow0 Maria, but i won’t kill you like I should have in the last episode”

    Don’t get me wrong good show but the ending was shit.
